You can view your texture on a sphere, plane or an isometric area with the "Texture Preview" feature.

You can gain extra quality for your texture if you scale it down with the "Rescale Texture" function.

Activate the "Loop" feature on the "Tools" form and set the "Function / Texture Mixing" to a low value (e.g. 10). Then use a Distortion-Utility to gain great effects.

You can use the "Texture Library" to store your textures.

You can create a color gradient if you use the "Expression" function of the "Generator Engine". Enter "X" for a horizontal, "Y" for a vertical or "X+Y" for a diagonal gradient. Make sure that you have "Use Color Gradient" checked.

You can explore a Mandelbrot-Fractal with the "Mandelbrot" function of the "Generator Engine". Just click on the little preview to zoom in. Make sure that you have "Use Color Gradient" checked for great results.

There are lots of presets for the "Matrix" function of the "Generator Engine". Try some to create nice patterns.

Try the "Kaleidoscope to New" function at "Make Seamless" of the "Utilities". Make a seamless texture out of any image by a single mouse click.

If you like a function press the "Add" button on the "Tools" form to add it to the function favorites.

Try the "Simple Witch". This feature creates nice random textures by some mouse clicks and is a funny toy.

Use the "Edge Trace" functions of "Fill and Filter" to convert any area to a 3D object.

You can create your own filter-functions with the "Matrix Filter" function of "Fill and Filter".

You can press Ctrl-F to search a function.

Press the "Glossary" button on the "Tool Config" form to receive information about the selected function.

You can mix textures if you use the "Mix with Source" of "Utilities". Just set one texture "as source" and click on the other texture.

You can cancel up to 99 steps by using the "Undo" feature. After some steps hold Ctrl+Z pressed to see nice animations of your work.

You can paste a part of your texture to a new one with the "Get \ Crop to New" function of "Rectangles".

A click with the right mousebutton on a texture's form opens a context menu with important functions.

A click with the right mousebutton on the colored rectangles on the "Color" form allows you to adjust the selected color in brightness.

Press Alt-V to see your texture full screen.

Draw some "Bump \ Shadow" Ellipses to illuminate your texture.

Many functions can be made transparent if you set the "Opacity (%)" value (Function / Texture Mixing) to lower than 100.

Try the "Sprite" functions. You can draw an image as an object on a texture.

Use an image as a pen with the "Source \ Sprite" function of "Freehand Pen". Make sure that you have it set as source.

The "Distort \ Warp" Ellipse can create funny effects if used on images of persons.

Hold the right mousebutton pressed on a texture's form and move the mouse to shift a texture. It's important to draw over the texture's borders for seamless and well-balanced textures.

Press one of the little cube-button on the "color" form to select a random color.

Use the scrollbar on the "3D color select" form to adjust the colors' saturation of the color cube.

Use the little square buttons at the upper left corner of any control window to externalize or internalize it.

Exchange images with any other graphics program by using the clipboard function.
Press Ctrl-C within I-Tex to copy a texture to the clipboard and press Ctrl-V within the other application to paste it there.

Lower the contrast of a texture, make it pale or blurred to make the text in front of a texture more readable (if used on web pages).

You can make horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines if you press the shift button while drawing.
